What's cooking?
I am addicted to the Food Network. I am not sure why, but I can't stop watching.
I don't cook, so it's not like I'm after great recipes or cooking tips.
My favorite segment is the Throwdown with Bobby Flay. I just love that guy and the way he takes to the road and challenges local people to a "throwdown". It's great!
I also find myself on the edge of my couch during those ice scuplture contests. My heart is racing and I'm yelling "hurry, you only have 20 more seconds!" And the Iron Chef, well that takes stress to a whole new level.
I even cried once when this lady from the midwest won the "best chicken recipe" contest. I was so happy for her.
I have learned all kinds of things about food all over the United States. If I find myself in NYC and want the hot dog Julia Child pronounced as the "best hot dog in the world", I know where to go and I have learned you can travel and have three meals a day for 40 bucks.
I have seen every candy factory there is, and have learned the many uses of Tofu.
I will utilize none of this information, but I still can't stop watching. I just don't understand the appeal, but I have stopped questioning it.
Right now, I gotta go, my grilled cheese sandwich is burning..........

Once the tv is relocated to the downstairs I'm going to try to sneak more cable channels into the house mostly because of the Food Network! When we were at the cabin I saw this cake decorating show and I swear, I never saw such suspense. The designs were works of art! Can't wait to see it again. In the meantime, I have to settle for Survivor upstairs. xo
